The 2012 UEFA Euro 2012 finals will be hosted by Poland and Ukraine between 8 June and 1 July 2012. It is the first time that either nation has hosted the tournament. From the British (UK) Home Nations only England have qualified for the tournament they are in group D with Ukraine, Sweden and France. As always there will be massive interest in the performance of the Irish as the Republic of Ireland have qualified for their first international finals tournament since the 2002 FIFA World Cup.
The winner of the tournament gains automatic entry to the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup hosted by Brazil.
The BBC and ITV have
signed a deal with UEFA to broadcast the the 2012 European Championships. The deal includes live match rights and highlights for the
entire tournament and the Euro 2012 Final.
